Transfer Mentor Programs
Commuter Transfer Students
Commuter Life at San Diego State University is excited to share all about our Commuter Life mentor programs for Transfer students. Through these mentorship programs, Commuter Life aims to inspire a well-rounded experience on campus and to create a network of community and campus resources for SDSU's commuter students.
The Center for Commuter Life has Transfer mentors for incoming transfer students, who will support transfers with transitioning to SDSU, understanding the resources available, sharing their experience as a transfer student, and connecting transfer students with academic advising support.

My biggest challenge transferring to SDSU was trying to acclimate from the culture of community college to a university. I was involved a lot at my community college and knew that if I put myself out there, my experience could change. I am proud of knowing that I started my SDSU experience outside of my comfort zone to obtain the experience I wanted; finding community, networking, and stability.

Lance’s advice to “transfer students is not to be afraid to be involved with any of the student organizations and clubs that SDSU has to offer. Everyone that I’ve met here has been very accommodating and welcoming. Lastly, take advantage of the number of mentorship opportunities whether it’d be for academic, career, or personal reasons.”
