First-Year Commuter Success Pathways
Choosing the Commuter Success Pathway that is right for you will help you find your place, make new friends and have a true connection to SDSU. Commuter Success Pathways merge your academic goals and your interests through specialized seminars or grouped classes. Students who find campus friends and activities early on have higher GPAs and satisfaction with their college experience. Don’t just commute – connect!
In addition to your new home away from home at the Center for Commuter Life, your academic coursework will be enhanced through your Commuter Success Pathway, providing you with a small community of other students with your interests.
University Seminar (Required)
As a first-semester commuter student, you will be enrolled in the one-unit course University Seminar. To help you build your own pathway for the fall semester, the Commuter Life staff will register you in your seminar and any add-on courses. These small classes will help improve your academic skills and relationships, leading to success.
Enhance Your Commuter Success Pathway with Add-Ons
Connecting with your professors and utilizing academic resources are keys to your successful transition to SDSU. You will have the opportunity to do just that with small-group general education courses in your area of interest with these add-ons, helping you become comfortable with the demands of college coursework. These general education courses count towards graduation requirements.
